IRCC now accepting Pearson Test of English (PTE Core) for Canadian immigration
PTE Core test accepted for all Canadian immigration pathways and citizenship as of January 30, 2024.
PTE Core divided into Speaking and Writing (50 mins), Reading (30 mins), and Listening (30 mins).
Speaking test assesses skills through 7 question types like reading aloud, introducing oneself, etc.
PTE Core is a 2-hour computer-based test.
Minimum PTE score for express entry PR is around 60 to 74 (CLB 7).
Other accepted language tests: CELPIP, IELTS, TEF Canada, and TCF Canada.
