If you are a student, foreign worker or even a visitor in Canada, this post is for you. Whatever you do, do not make the mistake of getting out of status in Canada. Do not allow your study permit/work permit or visitor visa to expire. At the same time, make sure you do not do anything to jeopardize your status by failing to obey the conditions of your visa.

Many temporary residents forget that their temporary status is temporary, so let me remind you that failing to obey the conditions of your visa or disobeying Canadian immigration law can make you inadmissible for permanent residence in Canada.

Some examples of things you can do that can make you inadmissible are:
1. Overstaying on a visitor visa
2. Working beyond the allowed limit on your study permit
3. Getting out of status for any reason and continuing to stay in Canada.
