🚨 Big changes are coming to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program!

Starting September 26, 2024, the Canadian government is tightening regulations to prioritize Canadian workers and reduce reliance on temporary foreign workers.

🍁 Effective September 26, 2024, Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) in the Low-Wage stream will not be processed in areas with unemployment rates of 6% or higher.

👥 Employers can hire no more than 10% of their workforce through the TFW Program, a further reduction from previous caps.

⏳ The maximum duration of employment for low-wage temporary foreign workers is now limited to one year.

🌟 Exceptions to these changes apply to critical sectors such as agriculture, food processing, fish processing, healthcare, caregiving, and construction.

🔍 The Canadian government will continue to monitor and adjust the program as needed to ensure it meets the needs of the economy.
