The proof of funds required for your tourist visa application mainly consists of these three items:
1. Cost of your accommodation during your temporary stay,
2. Cost for your transportation to & fro Canada (round trip),
3. Cost for other travel related expenses such as feeding, shopping etc.
However, it’s deeper than the amount of money in your bank account.
The financial documents you provide will give the visa officer an idea of your financial situation. This is especially important for a tourist trip, which is generally seen as not very necessary.
Despite having a high closing account balance, there are some red flags that could impact your application. Some include;
❌ planning to use all your savings and investments.
❌ having sudden lump sum deposits with a pre-existing low opening account balance.
❌ not enough supporting documents or explanation to show the source of your money.
❌ little employment history or business activities in your country of residence
❌ low salary or income
❌ poor employment or economic conditions of your country of resistance.
