Infernal Hordes is Diablo 4's take on "Greater Rifts" from Diablo 3. Every few levels you gain past max level allows you to access a higher difficulty tier of the Hordes. Each run consists of 10 waves that steadily increase in difficulty. Your main objective is to survive all 10 waves while defeating as many enemies as possible to gain rewards.
The top reward tiers require you to defeat over 100 enemies to earn special cosmetic rewards and materials to craft high-level Legendary gems. Reaching wave 10 on the highest difficulties is no easy task and requires careful planning and an optimized build.
Class | Build |
Barbarian | Whirlwind |
Crusader | Holy Hammerdin |
Necromancer | Bone Spear |
The top Infernal Hordes classes based on community data are Barbarian, Crusader, and Necromancer using the Whirlwind, Hammerdin, and Bone Spear builds respectively. These builds excel at mob clearing thanks to their efficient AOEs and self-healing abilities. It's highly recommended to buy Diablo 4 Gold on MTMMO and fully optimize your character with the best legendaries before taking on the highest tiers.
Beyond your build, there are a few key strategies to focus on:
- Focus elites over normal mobs in the early waves for better rewards
- Kite larger groups of enemies together to cleave them down quickly with AOE abilities
- Play it safe in the later waves and don’t get too greedy for kills
- Use defensive skills liberally and don’t be afraid to kite when needed
- Make use of shrines that heal, empower or reduce damage taken
With enough practice of these tactics, you'll start reaching new personal bests. Reaching the highest tiers of Infernal Hordes will reward you with the best loot in the game as well as a sense of satisfaction from tackling Diablo 4's most challenging content.
